Nature in the City

We drive long distances, hike deep into the woods swatting flies, or paddle until we have blisters with the hope of seeing stunning nature.  Sometimes wildlife isn’t as difficult to find as we make it.  This summer we have had a pair of peregrine falcons nest 2 houses down on our street.  We didn’t notice them until the 3 chicks began to fledge.  Now we have had glimpses of them flying or perched in the big elms.  Everyday we hear their screech, and come to think of it there haven’t been any pigeons nesting next door.
