A Dose of Realism

It snowed last night, and today they decided to cancel classes. I’m not sure that there is enough snow to warrant it. But hey, we’re not dealing with hearty Manitobans here.

While trying to decide what to do with my day “off”, it occurred to me that I might insert a little dose of realism into our blog. By looking at the pictures of L that we’ve posted here, one might get the impression that L is always smiling and posing for cute pictures. But that would be a mistaken impression. L also spends a lot of time doing what he’s doing in the following pictures.

Is he cuter crying or smiling? (Yes, according to Webster, ‘cuter’ is a word.)

  1. This feels weird to me. He doesn’t look like my nephew, but that is because he’s not L & D’s kid. I’m used to seeing their kids. This takes some getting used to. I don’t ever recognize him in pictures. I feel a little lost. Glad to hear things are going well.

  2. we had a snowstorm here last week(the most snow they’ve ever seen, apparently) and schools were closed, too. as i trudged into work in the slush i encountered the kids on their way *away* from school…snow happens so seldom here…i guess they don’t have a trusted CFAM to let them know about the school cancellations 🙂 p.s. I think L is equally cute – smiling or rip-roaring mad!

  3. Thinking of CFAM reminds me of all the mornings that we sat by the radio hoping that our division would be one of the ones that didn’t have buses running. If buses weren’t officially cancelled then you could be sure that our driver would find a way to get us there.

  4. yes, they are still cute while crying, or screaming, or vomitting, or vommitting in conjunction with explosive diarrhea, or having a temper tantrum, or any other form of inconsolibility plus or minus excrements exploding out of orfaces.

cuteness is how they survive. and l has a wonderful survival technique going on with his cute little button nose.
